NatLab
The pearl of Strijp-S, that was and still is the Natlab. From its inception in 1914, to its establishment in Strijp-S in 1923 and its departure to the current High Tech Campus Eindhoven in 1966 the Natlab has breathed history.
After one hundred years of research and development, it is not surprising that the Natlab takes the leading role.
This is the spot where Philips developed lighting, invented X-ray tubes, caused a paradigm shift in our communication with radio and TV and introduced playing with sound in our living rooms with the tape cassette.
This is why the Natlab, as a municipal monument, is now also a place to shine. After extensive renovations respecting the original architecture, this historical place is now home to the art house cinema Plaza Futura, fthe film platform Broet and Baltan Laboratories is an institution that operates at the intersection of art, science and technology culture. Together, they make the Natlab a unique cultural hive with a culinary note. The grand café with its interesting menu has something to satisfy everyone’s appetite and taste.
