SAS-3 was the first new-build project on Strijp-S and was completed in 2012. Het Veem

Built during World War II, the Veemgebouw was formerly used as a Philips warehouse. Trudo acquired the building in 2009 and decided to redevelop it. Because the Veem is less suitable for housing due to its low floor heights and small windows, Trudo opted for a very mixed alternative interpretation.

The former Philips building SWA, also known as the Glass Building, is a characteristic building with history. The very first light bulbs were manufactured here. Even today, there is plenty of activity. Its eight floors house more than 85 companies.

    Parking garage Om De Hoek

    The ‘Om de Hoek’ parking garage at Strijp-S in Eindhoven offers 568 parking spaces. The top four levels are open to the public, while the ground floor is reserved for local residents and businesses.

    Radio Royaal

    Machines aside: Philips’ former energy house now houses Radio Royaal. French-German food, thirteen hundred square metres of unpolished industrial design.

      Ketelhuis

      The Ketelhuis is where food and drink, art and culture meet. The building, which used to heat the entire old Philips industrial area, has been filled in with catering, studios and exhibition spaces since 2011.

      Area 51

      Skatepark Area51 is located in building SEU and, at 2800 square metres, it is the Netherlands’ largest indoor skatepark. Besides the extensive street section, the park also has a large bowl and an extensive miniramp. Especially for lessons and kids, there is a separate learning area with low obstacles where you can practice quietly.

      Chinees paviljoen

      A wonderful gift from the Chinese city of Nanjing to Eindhoven: a Chinese pavilion including a free-standing clock tower. The pavilion will have a Chinese restaurant and a traditional teahouse. It will open during the Glow light festival in November 2021.

      Spaces-S

      SPACE-S is home to 402 residences, including apartments, lofts, live-work units, student rooms and studios, as well as supported housing. Shared washing machines are available, and students have access to a communal bike storage area.

      Klokgebouw

      The Klokgebouw, originally built in 1929 for the production of Philips’ synthetic material Philite, has been owned by Trudo since 2007. The housing association transformed it into the cultural heart of Strijp-S.

      Microlab is a co-working space, office space and conference room all in one; flexible workspaces have been created in the former Philips SFH building.       One of the eye-catchers of Strijp-S since 2014: the SX building, formerly one of Philips’ many factory buildings, now the place where sports, marketing and media come together. SX now houses more than 50 entrepreneurs with one common denominator: an unbridled love of sport.

      In the triangle formed by the buildings Anton, Haasje Over, and Area51, construction will begin in autumn 2024 on a new development called Tribune. As the name suggests, this project—situated right on the vibrant Ketelhuisplein—will take the shape of a grandstand.

      Matchbox

      Right next to the Trudo Tower, ‘Matchbox’ is expected to rise in mid-2025; the first building at Strijp-S to consist of wood construction. The building’s name refers to the English word for matchbox, because of its typical shape and appearance.
